Sustainable Building Practices

In today's construction idustry, implementing usable green building initiatives is paramount. Waltz Construction is committed to enhancing the sustainability of its projects, as well as encouraging green practices in our own facilities. Waltz's in-house Environmental Project Manager monitors all projects to verify our "Green Construction" procedures are actively implemented. Additionally, we require all staff to participate in an environmental orientation which encompasses:

  • Overview of environmental issues related to the building industry
  • Overview of envrionmental issues related to projects (as required)
  • Review of site-specific procedures and managment plans
  • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management
  • Noise and acoustics managment
  • Construction waste management
  • Pollution Prevention (P2) practices
  • Environmental regulation compliance

LEED Certification

 

LEED Certification provides independent, third-party verfication that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. All cerftified projects recieve a LEED plaque, the nationally recognized symbol demonstrating a building is environmentally responsible and protfiable, as well as a healthy place to live and/ or work. There are tangible envrionmental and financial benefits to earning LEED Certification:

  • Lower operating cost and increased asset value
  • Reduces wast sent to landfills
  • Conserves energy and water
  • Healthier and safer for building occupants
  • Reduces harmful greenhouse gas emmissions
  • Qualifies for tax rebates, zoning allowances and other incentives
